Evolution of Rotary Wing Flight
The history of rotary wing flight is a long and interesting one dating all the way back to 400 B.C. Around this time, the Chinese began making tops with feathers at the end of a stick that they would spin rapidly and then release to fly. Later, several other inventors and physicists would become involved with the "vertical flight machine" project.
Today, the military continues to be the largest purchaser of helicopters, but certain manufacturers produce a number of smaller training helicopters aimed at the general aviation market. There are also a number of helicopter flight schools that offer training to those wanting to learn to fly as a career or for recreation. To learn more about flight school or helicopter products, feel free to check out the rest of our Web site.
