Experience Mt. St. Helens By Air

Experience volcanic wonders from the very best vantage point – the air!

Our Mt St. Helens tours take you on a journey to one of nature’s most powerful creations. Nearly four decades after the eruption, learn how the past devastation still affects the local area today.

We’ve been operating Mt St. Helens tours for over 25 years and are the most experienced tour operator on the mountain. Our Bell JetRanger, widely considered the most reliable helicopter in the industry, can accommodate four people in addition to the pilot. Our pilots have extensive experience flying tours and performing U.S. government survey work on the mountain. They’ll share their insider knowledge of the area by providing a narrative with geographic and cultural context throughout your tour.

Our Tour Details

Our 2019 season is open May 24 through early-September (or later, weather depending), departing every thirty minutes from our helipad at North Fork Survivors, just off Spirit Lake Highway. Our two tour options, the Crater Tour and the Summit Tour, include a variety of highlights such as the Toutle River Valley, Elk Rock, Castle Lake, Johnston Ridge, Spirit Lake, Loowit Glacier, and the mountain’s new lava dome. This dome emits white steam, signaling that Mt St. Helens is still a very active volcano. On clear days, you’ll also see spectacular views of Mt Rainier in the north and Mt Adams in the east framing an eruption zone that stretches for over 15 miles.
