Hillsboro Aviation, in conjunction with Portland Community College (PCC) and Embry Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU)-Portland Campus, is proud to offer our students the option to earn a two-year Associate of Applied Science Degree or a four-year Bachelor of Science Degree in Aeronautics while also completing the necessary flight training.
Students first enroll in PCC’s Aviation Science program and take general studies courses such as math and science as well as aviation specific academic courses such as applied aerodynamics and economics of flight operations. They complete their flight and ground training at one of Hillsboro Aviation’s campuses.
The associate degree program takes 21 months to complete, and the student will graduate with an Associate of Applied Science Degree, FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate and Instrument Rating with options for Flight Instructor Ratings.
Students wishing to continue their collegiate education may transfer their college credits from PCC to ERAU - Portland Campus. The schools have an articulation agreement that guarantees admission to ERAU as long as the student has at least a 2.0 grade point average. It also guarantees that the college credits received through PCC will transfer to ERAU and count toward a Bachelor of Science Degree. The ERAU portion of the degree program takes about 24 months for a total of approximately four years to complete a Bachelor of Science Degree and the required flight training.
