Alan Dahm to Retire from Hillsboro Aviation After 53 Years in the Aviation Parts Industry
Hillsboro Aviation would like to congratulate Alan Dahm on his upcoming retirement after nearly 53 years of employment as an aviation parts professional. When Alan's last day of work arrives on June 30, 2010, he will be ending an amazing aviation career that began in the parts department at Flightcraft, Inc. in Portland in 1957. After numerous years at Flightcraft, Alan continued his employment in the aviation parts industry with VanDusen and Aviall before joining Hillsboro Aviation in November 1994.
Since his arrival in 1994, Alan has been a fixture in the parts department at Hillsboro Aviation. His contacts in the parts business and incredible recall of thousands upon thousands of general aviation parts have been an integral part of Hillsboro Aviation's growth into an industry leader in flight training, charter, aircraft sales, parts sales, maintenance and avionics.
Commenting on Alan’s impending departure, Max Lyons, president and CEO of Hillsboro Aviation said, “We have been extremely fortunate to have had the benefit of Alan’s expertise and 53 years of knowledge of aviation parts over these many years. It goes without saying that we are very sad to be losing his valuable services in our parts department. He is truly a walking encyclopedia of aviation parts knowledge. We wish him a long and happy retirement.”
Alan Dahm comments, “My years in the aviation industry and with Hillsboro Aviation have been rewarding. However, I now feel its time to step aside safe in the knowledge that I am leaving the business in very capable hands. It has been a pleasure working with everyone at Hillsboro Aviation and I feel very fortunate to have worked for such a great company for the last 16 years.”
