Chris started his flight training in 2002 in Medford, Oregon. He came to Hillsboro Aviation in 2003 to continue his training and obtain advanced ratings. In 2005, Chris was hired as an airplane certified flight instructor (CFI). He steadily began to work his way up in the company. In 2006, Chris became the Assistant Chief Instructor and in 2007 became the China program manager. Then in 2008, he accepted the position of airplane Chief Instructor. In this role, Chris supervised all airplane CFIs and was responsible for all airplane flight training operations. He is a graduate of PCC's aviation science program and is our resident expert on this degree program with PCC. In addition, he is also a qualified Part 135 King Air charter captain. In 2013, Chris was promoted to school director and is now responsible for the oversight of all flight school business.

Daniel’s first aviation memory as a young boy was seeing a large plane fly over head during a soccer game. Although the game was still being played, he stopped and watched the plane for several moments until it disappeared from sight. From that time on, Daniel has always been fascinated with aviation. Daniel is working on his bachelor's degree in aviation administration from Utah Valley University and is a private helicopter pilot. He joined Hillsboro Aviation in 2012 and brings many years of customer service experience. As the global admissions manager, Daniel is responsible for assisting all prospective and incoming students prepare for their training.

Jenifer started working for Hillsboro Aviation in 1997 as a part-time dispatcher.  She has a master’s degree in education and was also working as a substitute teacher at the same time. After working at Hillsboro Aviation for a year, the aviation bug bit her and she earned her airplane Private Pilot Certificate. In 2004, Jenifer accepted a full-time position as the school administrator. In this position, she handled all international student affairs, TSA registration and training and veterans’ affairs. The following year, she became school administration manager and in addition to her previous duties she also manages school administration, dispatch, student housing and testing center departments. Her duties changed again in 2010 to allow Jenifer to focus on managing our school’s accreditation. Most of what Jenifer does is behind the scenes, but she still works closely with our international students, handles veterans’ affairs and manages student housing and the testing center.

Halsey was born and raised in Portland and has been involved in aviation since he was ten years old. He started flying airplanes with the Civil Air Patrol at age ten and has been flying ever since. Throughout high school, Halsey continued his flight training and joined Hillsboro Aviation's helicopter flight training program in 2007. During his flight training, he worked in our line service department and in 2009 he was hired as a helicopter CFI for the company. From there Halsey conducted internal stage checks, CFI training and acted as the helicopter Assistant Chief Flight Instructor. His primary responsibility then was Part 141 compliance as well as overseeing our students’ progress. As Troutdale General Manager, he is responsible for all operations at Hillsboro Aviation's Troutdale campus.

Neal was born and raised in South Bend, IN. He attended LeTourneau University where he started flying in 2004 and quickly fell in love with aviation. Neal graduated from LeTourneau in 2007 with a bachelor's of science in aeronautical science which includes commercial multi and single engine certificates with Instrument ratings and A&P certificates. In 2007, he completed his CFI Rating and started instructing in Ohio and joined the Hillsboro Aviation team in May of 2008. While working as a CFI and a mechanic, Neal obtained his CFII and MEI in 2009. In the fall of 2010, he accepted the China Program Ground Instructor position and enjoyed teaching the students and mentoring instructors. As of April 2013, Neal was promoted to Airplane Chief Instructor.

Dan was born and raised in Kalispell, Montana where his passion for flying began. He graduated from the University of North Dakota (UND) in 2008 with a degree in aviation management where he also received his airplane ratings through his Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) Rating. Dan spent his college summers working as a jump pilot, scenic pilot and a VFR 135 charter pilot.  He also worked as a flight instructor for UND before moving to Portland in 2008 to work for Hillsboro Aviation. In 2009, he went through Hillsboro Aviation's helicopter flight training program and accomplished his dream of being a dual-rated pilot. Dan now has his airplane CFI, CFII and MEI along with his helicopter CFI and CFII. In December of 2012, Dan accepted the position of helicopter Chief Instructor.

Kevan is from Monterey, CA. He attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, AZ and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Science with a minor in aviation safety. Kevan started working for Hillsboro Aviation in 2007 and has held the position of airplane Assistant Chief Instructor since 2008. He is an airplane CFI, CFII and MEI.

Brein earned her bachelor’s degree in chemistry at Lewis & Clark College before joining the aviation industry. She is a commercial pilot with Instrument and Certified Flight Instructor Ratings and flew small jets for a regional airline before joining the team at Hillsboro Aviation. She loves her position because it allows her to work in the industry she loves most.  Brein also enjoys getting to know and work with so many different people from all over the world and assisting our students with their flight training.

Mike was born in Detroit and has lived in New Zealand, Alaska, Chile and all over the United States. He was inspired to pursue a career as a professional helicopter pilot while working as a mountain guide, flying into the mountains with clients. Half a decade of plotting and planning led him to choose Hillsboro Aviation for his training and his first flight was in October 2011. Eight months later Mike had obtained a Commercial Pilot Certificate, Instrument Rating, CFI Rating and CFII Rating, and then he began working as an instructor at Hillsboro Aviation. In February 2013, Mike accepted the position of helicopter Assistant Chief Instructor.

Connor fell in love with aviation at an early age and began flight training during high school in Colorado. After high school, he moved to Montana to pursue a bachelor's degree in aeronautical science at Rocky Mountain College, which he achieved in 2011. That fall he accepted a position with Hillsboro Aviation as a certified flight instructor at our Troutdale campus. Connor played an integral role during the expansion of our Troutdale operations, and he gladly accepted the position of airplane Assistant Chief Instructor in 2013.

Satoru Kamoshita (SK) is the Asia program manager and a Designated Pilot Examiner (DPE).

As the Asia program manager, SK works with our Korean, Taiwanese, Brazilian and Japanese students and has trained over 500 pilots who fly for major airlines all over the world. He started as a flight instructor at Hillsboro Aviation in 1997 and took his current position in 2006. SK graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a master’s in aeronautical management. He is an airline transport pilot with a type rating in YS-11 and Dash 8 Q400. Before joining Hillsboro Aviation, SK was a YS-11 captain for Philippine Airlines. He also ferried aircraft from Japan to locations such as Africa, Singapore and North America and trained local pilots.  He has over 11,000 flight hours.

Ben is a certified flight instructor and commercially-rated pilot with over 4000 hours of flight experience. He has worked at Hillsboro Aviation since December, 2007 teaching ground and managing flight training for more than 12 classes of cadets in the China program. With dual-given experience in aircraft ranging from the Cessna 150 to the King Air C90, Ben has taught retirees and international airline cadets alike. Ben continues to stay active in the flight training environment.

Shasta is an airplane private pilot working on her Instrument Rating and Commercial Pilot Certificate.  She is a Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University graduate. In addition to being a pilot, she is also a licensed and avid skydiver. As lead dispatcher Shasta is in charge of all dispatch operations for Hillsboro Aviation at both facilities.

Mei was born in Taiwan and lived in New Zealand for over 10 years. In 2007, she started working for Hillsboro Aviation as the school administrative assistant. Mei primarily deals with our international student program which includes students from China, Taiwan, Japan, Hong Kong, Korea and Brazil. She is also a test proctor for our testing center and does new student enrollment for the flight training school.

Mei speaks Mandarin and is currently learning Japanese. She enjoys assisting all of our international students and meeting new people.
