Ryan has been studying aviation since his first airplane flight lesson in 1988. He began his career with Hillsboro Aviation in 2005 and brings over 16 years of management experience to the team. Ryan is a commercial helicopter pilot with experience in contract and charter operations and as the helicopter Chief Instructor for Hillsboro Aviation. Ryan was the school director from 2008 to 2013 and was responsible for the oversight of all flight school business, and in 2013, Ryan became director of sales and service managing aircraft sales, parts sales and MRO services. When Hillsboro Aviation sold its flight school portion in 2014, Ryan was promoted to general manager.

Franz graduated from the University of Bayreuth in Germany with a degree in business and sport administration before pursuing his career as a helicopter pilot. In 1999, he graduated from Hillsboro Aviation’s helicopter training program. Franz held the position as Part 141 Chief Flight Instructor for several years before moving into a utility line pilot position with Hillsboro Aviation. In 2006, he accepted the position of contract and charter department manager which included the responsibilities of the Director of Operations.

Tim joined Hillsboro Aviation in 2016 as service center sales manager and director of maintenance (DOM). Tim’s career began in the US Army as an AH-1 Cobra Crew Chief, including a position as a UH-60 Blackhawk Crew Chief during Operation Desert Storm. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and has over 23 years of industry experience, including holding an A&P license and positions as an AS9110 lead auditor and 145 and Department of Defense final inspector. He has worked on Bell, Sikorsky, Robinson, Boeing, MD and Cessna aircraft in the areas of line maintenance, heavy maintenance, aircraft refurbishment and component work. Tim is responsible for the growth and sustainment of the company’s third-party maintenance in addition to the management and oversight of the company’s contract and charter fleet maintenance.

Tom is the man behind the scenes responsible for coordinating project logistics and monitoring operations. His attention to detail and follow-through enable him to meet the needs of our customers and our employees in the field with efficiency and accuracy. Tom began working at Hillsboro Aviation in 2007 after receiving a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oregon.

Paul is a graduate of Colorado Aero Tech and has been in the aviation business for 29 years. He began his career at Rockwell International working on the B1-B long-range bomber production program. Later, Paul transferred to Rockwell’s Corporate Flight Operations at Los Angeles International Airport to maintain aircraft used by the company executives. In 1990, he accepted a position at Aero Air first as Chief Inspector, then Quality Manager and finally as Maintenance Director managing all maintenance and business sectors of the company. In 2000, Paul started working as Director of Maintenance for Aerovertigo, Inc. maintaining a fleet of privately owned business jets and recreational aircraft. In 2008, he began work at Flightcraft as Chief Inspector and in October of 2008 started at Hillsboro Aviation. Paul has attended over 25 factory training schools.

Josh joined Hillsboro Aviation in 2015. He brings with him 10 years of experience with vehicle fleet management, including six years as operations manager for a motor coach charter company and five years working for the Montana Department of Transportation. He is a graduate of the DOT Management Program and holds a commercial drivers’ license with hazmat and tanker endorsement. Josh is responsible for the oversight and management of Hillsboro Aviation's ground operations, including facilities, line service, vehicle fleet, support equipment and drivers. He moved from Montana to Oregon with his family to join the Hillsboro Aviation team and is excited to work in an industry he finds both fascinating and rewarding.
