Airplane Flight Training

Our airplane flight school is one of the top schools in the country. We have been training professional pilots since 1980 and have an excellent safety record. Students from 75 countries have trained at Hillsboro Aviation and our graduates fly for companies all over the world.

Hillsboro Aviation is a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)-approved flight training school. This approval allows us to conduct flight training under Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) Part 61 and Part 141. We have 34 training aircraft, including models such as Cessna 152, Cessna 172, Cessna 206, Piper Seminole and Hawker Beechcraft King Air C90. We also train our students on the latest flight simulation technology. Our Frasca 142 visual flight simulators take on the personality of the smallest single-engine airplanes to the most sophisticated twin-engine planes with advanced GPS avionics.

Our aircraft are maintained to the highest standards, and our instructors are dedicated to providing the highest quality instruction available. Students receive individualized instruction in a one-on-one environment with their instructors.

We are located in the beautiful northwestern United States 15 miles west of Portland, Oregon. Hillsboro is close to the city, the ocean and the mountains. Because of this, our flight training allows you to navigate all types of topography. We also experience many types of weather conditions, which is why our graduates excel as pilots after they leave our school. Learning to fly in challenging weather is a critical part of becoming a well-rounded pilot. This experience will prepare you for the rest of your career.
